hideaway jazz cafe

Hideaway is the London jazz club that features the very best Jazz, Funk, Swing and Soul, showcasing new talent, established artists and star performers. Based in the heart of Streatham, the venue also offers weekly standup comedy shows, a fully licensed restaurant, bar and café.

In 2012 the owners of the Hideaway Jazz Café and neighbouring Streatham Business Centre decided to transform the building’s basement into an open plan shared office workspace.

Designers and Project Managers, Paul Mullins & Associates appointed Interco Projects to assist in transforming an unused basement into contemporary and modern well equipped open plan workspace with private offices and meeting rooms.

the project

A mixture of black, white and orange were used to continue the Hideaways brand colours throughout the venue. A re-writable orange feature wall was created at one end of the workspace allowing business users to express thoughts and ideas. Aluminium floor tiles and staircases created an urban and laid back feel to the workspace. Ductwork and lighting tracks were left fully exposed adding to the industrial feel or the basement.

A long set of desks used for hot desking occupied the central parts of the office, all individually equipped with power and internet access. The outer parts of the workspace was fitted with Komfort Polar glass partitioned offices and meeting rooms, each being furnished with bespoke circular desks and images of London.

A large comfortable lounge/seating area was created at one end of the workspace, away from the desks and offices. This was divided by bespoke bookcases individually wrapped with newspaper articles and print.

A high gloss white kitchen was fitted with fully integrated appliances; finished off with custom made stainless steel worktops.

Interco Projects were pleased to be part of the team that carried out this stylish working environment.
